Rico is the CEO of a Managed Services IT company in Cape Town and he started racing cars in 2005 with a Ray Formula VW which he maintained himself, whilst renting the car from Reg Anderson. He ended 2nd Overall Class A in 2005 and then purchased a 2008 Swift Formula VW from Arnold Lambert, which he campaigned from 2006 till 2008 in Formula Libre. He received multiple wins in this Car and then purchased a Owen Ashley Formula Supercar in which he ended 3rd in Bronze Class in 2008 and winning Bronze Class in 2009. In 2009 close friend, Moose Watt purchased the Hawkins P2 Sports Car and it was Rico's job to maintain and race the car. Further stints in Clubmans racing and the occasional foray into the fledgling Endurance series saw Rico hone his skills on the track, as well as off the track as mechanic. Whilst racing his own cars, or rented ones, Rico has always performed his own mechanical and setup work, ably assisted by close friend, Deon Beier.
Rico has turned his attention to building Team RBR and along with Deon Beier, they have expanded their services and mechanical and logistic support to various facets of racing.

Formula Sportscar Driver
Nick took up motor sport in 2000 driving in VW Cup, his first win was in the last race of the season. He spent next two seasons in VW Cup VR6 Vento and latterly Beetle Rsi V6. Nick moved to BTCC supporting UK Clio Cup series for four seasons 2003 to 2006 scoring over a dozen
podium place finishes and 8 fastest laps. In 2007 Nick raced in the Radical Biduro series, UK and Europe in SR4 where he had numerous podiums including win and current lap record holder of Oulton Park Island circuit.
2008 – 2009 he raced French V de V series and UK Speed series in CN Juno then Ligier JS49 where he had numerous podiums, Spa and Estoril. In 2010 Part season with two wins at Killarney in Lola T86 Sports; GT Championship. In 2011 he did the London to Cape Town Rally in a TD90 Land Rover. First in class and third overall. From 2011 to 2015 Nick raced Formula Supercar Championship. Over 20 wins, poles and fastest laps and also overall Championship wins in 2013 and 2014. In 2015 he was Second in his class at Donington Historic Festival Rejo Mk3 (1960) and Second in Class Spa Six hour classic in 1965 Lotus Elan. In 2014, Nick was the Winner of the Africa 6 hour Phakisa, Winner of Cape Town 3 hour 2014 and 2015, Kyalami 2 hour 2015 winner, Africa 9 hour revival 2015 winner with a Juno SS3 V6.
Formula Sportscar Driver
Simon is an Investment Banker based in Johannesburg. His racing career started in 2008 in endurance racing, he then progressed to a Porsche Cup car where he had numerous class wins. He then campaigned for several seasons in a Formula VW single seater in the fiercely competitive National Single seater championship. After a brief break, he returned to racing in 2015 campaigning a 997 Cup car and the beautiful RBR Ligier in the African Endurance series.
Formula Supercar Driver
Richard is the latest addition to the Rico Barlow Racing Team. Richard raced Formula M as a youngster and but had not raced once the past 16 years until his first Supercar excursion and away race at Aldo Scribante in Port Elizabeth where he dropped from a 1m26sec in his first lap on the circuit to 1m19 during practice day. Qualifying on Friday afternoon saw him break the 1m19 barrier and on race day he dropped to 1m15sec.
Richard is competing in Supercars Bronze Class this season.
Formula Single Seaters
Mike Verrier is an Orthopedic Surgeon at a Private Practice in Knysna. He started racing in 2010 in a Reynard for a season and then proceeded to a Nardini for 4 seasons. In 2014, Mike got a Shelby and in 2015, his Formula VW. Mike has various wins in Class D, C, B and A in Sports/GT and Class A wins in Formula Libre. In 2015, Mike finished 2nd overall in the African Endurance Series and won Class R. Mike also won his class at the Simola Hillclimb in 2015 but ended up in an oil spill crash in 2016.
Formula Single Seaters and Super Cars
Didier is a dual French & South African Businessman who was born in Sainte-Genevieve - Oise - France on 14th July “Bastille Day” 1946.
Didier started his racing in 2008 at Killarney Race Track with Fantastic Racing in a REYNARD 3,5 L Dodge - 1998 and his best lap was a 1.24.9. In 2009, he joined Rico Barlow Racing with a SWIFT 2L GTI 1991and his best lap was a 1.19.4 where he finished 2nd in the Class A Championship. Dider continued with his SWIFT 2L GTI 1991 in 2010 with Rico Barlow Racing.
